Multi coloured decals

Here’s an example of some cool multi coloured decals we made recently using a mix of three different coloured vinyls.

How do we make multi coloured decals?

Making vinyl die cut stickers like these is quite a time consuming art form! It takes great care and patience, but the results are amazing.

  1. Firstly, you need to set up the artwork carefully using registration marks, so that the different parts of the cut job can be lined up and placed together at the end.
  2. Next, you need to cut the separate, individual parts that make up the sticker from the three different coloured sheets of vinyl.
  3. We then apply application tape to each of the smaller green and yellow parts, and using the registration marks as a guide, we carefully place each of the colours onto the main sticker.
  4. We then remove the registration marks and apply application tape over the sticker to keep all the parts in place, and allow for easy application to the surface.
  5. Finally, the sheets are trimmed into individual stickers and then they’re ready to go!

How many colours can you have?

There’s no set rules and it really depends on the size of your sticker and the complexity of the artwork.  Simple art works best.  For anything super detailed it would be better to go with a digital print sticker, or a hybrid where we have part vinyl die cut (decal) and part digital print like this example we did for Turoa ski area below.  For this job we digitally printed the turquoise triangle, and applied that to a grey vinyl decal to make one complete, epic sticker.

How do you get your hands on stickers like this?

We need to know the sticker sizing and see your artwork to custom price vinyl die cut jobs like this.  The more complicated the artwork, and the more colours involved will impact the price.  So will size and quantity desired, of course.  The easiest way is for you to fill in our quote form and we’ll get back to you with some options.
